Ready to ride out, Cumberland County, Summer 2009

Welcome to the Central Virginia Paint Horse Club Trails page!  We welcome all riding disciplines at our trail rides.  We love to see paint horses, but welcome other breeds as well.  We encourage membership at our trail rides with non-member fees including membership to our club.  In 2010, our goal is to have at least 1 trail ride each season at different locations across the state.  See below for upcoming trail rides planned.

APHA Ride America Program

CVPHC encourages members to join APHA's Ride America program (http://www.apha.com/rideamerica/index.html), where APHA members log their hours spent riding or driving their Regular Registry or Solid Paint-Bred Horse.  APHA offers 14 achievement levels, which start at 100 hours and top off at 10,000 hours.  Patches, certificates of achievement, and discounts on Ride America awards are given at milestones.  Belt buckles are awarded for 10,000 hours.  Hour awards that each rider and horse achieve are recorded on the horse's lifetime performance record.  Riders can log their hours through APHA's online log site or submit a paper log.  Once a member logs in to APHA Online site, simply click on the Ride America Log Reports box to record hours.  https://www.aphaonline.org/aphaonline/login.aspx

CVPHC Members enrolled in APHA's Ride America program can log your hours from January 1 to December 31 each year to compete for our CVPHC Most Hours Logged Award.  Your hours must be logged through APHA by January 10th of the following year.
Log your hours in 2010 to become eligible for this year's club award!  Email your name, APHA ID #, and horse's name to our Trail Ride Coordinator Kim at burnopranch@yahoo.com or call (757) 536-7888 for more information.

Congratulations to CVPHC's 2009 Award Winners

Congrats to our CVPHC Ride America Most Hours Logged in 2009 Winner ~ Laura Fitzgerald and The Sonny Side of Zip of Chesapeake, VA!  In 2nd place is Kim Vaughan and My Circuit Burner of Chesapeake, followed in 3rd place by Allison Fletcher and Louies Two Eyed Tee of Hayes, VA.  2009 CVPHC Most Hours Logged awards are donated by Kim's Farrier Service of Chesapeake.

2009 1st place winner receives a collapsible water bucket and a nylon mesh sponge bag.  These make great accessories on trail rides and camping with your horse.  2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a nylon mesh sponge bag as well.  These are great for hot rides and easy cool downs.  They have a nice long draw-string tie and clip for attaching to any saddle.
